Michael Cleland, P.Eng. is a partner and the Principal Structural Engineer of the Design Department. He is responsible for overseeing all of the design and analysis of projects from start to finish. He is directly involved with the structural design and analysis, preparation of documents, and the contract administration services. He is familiar with project standards and procurement issues for public and private sector projects.
Brian Johnson, P.Eng. BDS is a partner and the Senior Structural Engineer of the Design Department. He joined Cleland Jardine Engineering Ltd. in 1996 after obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering – Civil with High Distinction from Carleton University. He has extensive experience in the structural design and analysis of reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, wood, and aluminium systems.
André Marcoux, P.Eng, ing., PMP a partner with the firm, joined Cleland Jardine Engineering Ltd. in 1997, bringing with him a wealth of experience in many different fields of consulting, contracting and project administration. He has over 25 years experience in the local construction and engineering industry.
Mr. Marcoux is a licensed engineer in the provinces of Ontario and Québec, is a Gold Seal Certified project manager with the Canadian Construction Association and is a certified Project Management Professional with the “Project Management Institute”.
Mr. Marcoux is fully bilingual and holds a proficiency certificate from "Office de la Langue Française du Québec".
Mr. Marcoux heads the Project Management department and provides services in project management, design coordination, field review and contract administration.
Robert Jardine, B. Eng, P. Eng, PEO heads the firm’s Building Science Department. This wide ranging field involves investigation and restoration of building components including cladding systems, parking garages, foundations, balconies and windows.
Mr. Jardine has been responsible for well over 2,000 structural investigation projects including pre-purchase inspections, reserve fund studies/technical audits and restoration of cladding systems, balconies, parking garages and general structural components.
Matthew Jaynes, C.E.T. is a senior engineering technologist in the firm’s Building Science Department.
He joined Cleland Jardine Engineering Ltd. in 1998 after obtaining a Diploma of Civil Engineering Technology – with Honours from Algonquin College. He became a Certified Member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists in 2001. He has extensive experience in the field of building science including building investigations, condition surveys, pre-purchase appraisals, property condition assessments, reserve fund studies, tendering, contract administration and field services. In 2005, Matthew became part of the partnership core of Cleland Jardine Engineering Limited, joining Michael Cleland, Robert Jardine, André Marcoux and Brian Johnson.
