University of Ottawa Heart Institute Reference Centre
The erection of this 60,000 ft2 facility involved a 6-storey horizontal and vertical expansion to an existing building. The facility is for patient treatment and recovery, as well as offices. The design required that special consideration be given to the minimization of disruption to existing hospital facilities during construction. The project involved extensive modifications to existing structural elements in order to accommodate new program requirements.
